I have been a medical practitioner for many years practising integrated medicine combining Complementary Therapies with conventional treatments.
Until very recently I have been lead clinician for the AT service at the RLHIM. Since I started there in 1989 the AT service has grown and developed with the increased awareness of the psychological consequences of ill-health. It is a much valued therapy at the hospital, unique within the NHS.
I came to AT whist a GP, initially finding the benefits for myself, then as an AT therapist offering it to my patients as an adjunct to their ongoing treatments. I like to think of AT as a key component in holistic medical care and feel strongly that it should be available in the primary care setting.
I have had considerable experience of teaching AT to patients with many different physical and psychological kinds of ill-health and I have delighted in watching the effects of AT with improvement in symptoms and renewed self confidence in their ability to help themselves.
I have had the opportunity to validate these observations of AT with research in particular for insomnia, anxiety and chronic pain and disability be it physical or emotional.
I am a lecturer for the Education and Training team for the BAS. I was awarded a fellowship of the society for my work in establishing AT in the NHS.
I am also a Homeopathic practitioner
I now work independently in West London
